KPK Confiscates Rp1 Billion Of Rupiah Breaks To Pounds During OTT Riau Governor
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) confiscated around Rp1 billion in rupiah denominations to foreign currencies during the Riau Governor Abdul Wahid's hand arrest operation (OTT) on Monday, November 3.
KPK spokesman Budi Prasetyo revealed the findings and became evidence. The money is in rupiah to pound sterling.
"In addition to securing the parties, the team also secured evidence of a sum of money in the form of rupiah, US dollars, and pounds," Budi told reporters in a written statement, Tuesday, November 4.
"If it is converted into more than Rp. 1 billion," he continued.

As for now, eight people are already in the KPK's Red and White building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta. Apart from Abdul Wahid, the KPK also secured the Head of PUPR Arief Setiawan and the Secretary of the PUPR Office Ferry Yunanda.
Meanwhile, one more, out of a total of nine brought to Jakarta, is still on the way. He is referred to as Abdul Wahid's confidant.
Previously reported, the KPK held a hand arrest operation (OTT) in Riau Province on Monday, November 3. There were 10 people who were arrested and found money of up to hundreds of millions of rupiah.
It has not been detailed about the transaction that led to the silent operation. The KPK said all information would be submitted through a press conference after the inspection was carried out.
