Trump's Response, Nigerian Foreign Minister Affirms His Government Is Not Involved In The Murder Of Christian Citizens

JAKARTA - Nigerian Foreign Minister Yusuf Tuggar said the state's involvement in "impossible" religious persecution in Nigeria was based on the country's laws and constitution.

Speaking in Berlin with his German counterpart Johann Wadephul, Tuggar stressed "the country's constitutional commitment to freedom of religion and the rule of law."

"This shows that it is impossible for any religious persecution to be supported in any way, any form, by Nigerian governments at any level, whether federal, regional, or local, is impossible," he said.

He responded to questions about US President Donald Trump's warning about a possible "fast" military action in Nigeria if the country failed to crack down on the killing of Christian citizens.
