Balenciaga Releases Compang-Sapping Jacket For IDR 15 Million, Want To Buy?
JAKARTA - Balenciaga has returned to the public spotlight after launching the latest product that has sparked debate, namely the 'Destroyed' model jacket. This jacket looks like a camp, damaged and shabby.
This luxury French fashion brand is known to often release products with unusual concepts and often viral, such as bags in the form of Lays chips and bracelets that look like duct tape.
Reporting from the News18 page, this 'Destroyed' jacket immediately caught the attention of social media. According to reports, the jacket's first batch was sold out in just 24 hours after its release.
Balenciaga sells this jacket for 950 US dollars or Rp. 15 million. The jacket is made with material that appears to be destroyed or deliberately made very damaged and dull.
The launch of this jacket sparked a wave of discussions and comments on various social media platforms. Many have questioned the current fashion trend which is considered increasingly strange and unreasonable.
"Taking clothes from the homeless and selling them for Rp. 15 million is a crazy business model," commented the netizen.
Another user commented that this trend is part of the "deconstruction fashion" style, which is the fashion concept that deliberately challenges the definition of beauty and value in clothing where damage and imperfections are actually considered to have aesthetic value.
"Where's the logo? I don't want to buy it if there's no logo. I don't want people to think I bought it from Garage sale, I want them to know I'm a stupid person," wrote the netizen.

1. Avant-gardeyang fashion hunter and fashion lover want to show they understand high-level cultural and fashion trends.
2. Buyers buy for irony or content that makes this product a form of humor or 'meme fashion' to provoke reactions.
Meanwhile, another humorous comment reads, "Buy a jacket of IDR 300 thousand, let the cat play for an hour, it's over. Save IDR 83 million."
But there are also those who ask seriously, 'Is now appearing like homeless is a trend?'
This is not the first time Balenciaga has released controversial products at fantastic prices. Some of the other products include:
