OSO Emphasizes Central And Regional Synergy: The Most Regional Understanding Is The People Of Their Own Regions

TARAKAN Chairman of the People's Conscience Party (Hanura), Oesman Sapta Odang (OSO), emphasized the importance of changing the paradigm in building the nation, from a central instruction pattern to a pattern of regional input-based collaboration.

The message was conveyed when he inaugurated Inkong Ala as Chairman of the North Kalimantan Hanura DPD for the 2025'30 period, in Tarakan, Sunday, November 2 night.

According to OSO, the direction of national development will only be effective if it departs from the real needs of the people in the regions. He assessed that regional heads have the most in-depth understanding of their character and potential area.

"Hope for the future as stated by the Governor earlier. Because he is the one who knows about the area. We sometimes feel that we can, even though those who know better are the people of the area themselves," he said.

OSO assesses that there needs to be a change in the pattern of political communication between the center and the regions. He rejected the single-order based approach from above, and encouraged the pattern of two-way dialogue to make development run more participatively.

"So far there have been too many instructions. Even though the important thing is to hear input from the regions. Those who understand how to develop their territory," he said.

OSO also mentioned the decision to re-elect Ingkong Ala as Chairman of the Hanura Kaltara DPD as proof of the performance and loyalty recognized by cadres in five districts/cities.

"If he is re-elected, it means his performance is good. Otherwise, of course the party has a mechanism to replace it. But the fact is that he is trusted again is proof of work and real dedication," he said.

This national entrepreneur reminded all Hanura cadres in Indonesia to become partners of local governments in strengthening development governance.

A party that does not respect local governments is a wrong party. Our partner is the local government, from the provincial to district and city levels," he said.
