Trade In Crude Oil And Refinery Products Of Petral Allegedly Loss To The State, KPK Issues New Sprindik

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has issued a new investigation warrant (sprindik) related to allegations of corruption related to crude oil trading and refinery products at PT Pertamina Energy Service Pte. Ltd (Petral) as the subsidiary company of PT Pertamina (Persero).

KPK spokesman Budi Prasetyo said the sprindik was published in 2025. This investigation was carried out after the KPK investigated allegations of bribery in the procurement of catalysts at PT Pertamina (Persero) and bribes for the procurement of crude oil and finished products for the 2012-2014 period.

"In investigating the two cases, investigators found other allegations of corruption in the form of State Losses caused by the procurement of crude oil and products into refineries in the 2009-2015 period," Budi told reporters in a written statement, Monday, November 3.

The article used in this regulation, Budi explained, is Article 2 paragraph (1) and/or Article 3 of Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption as amended by Law Number 20 of 2001 concerning Amendments to Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) 1st of the Criminal Code.

A number of parties have also been questioned. Investigators, said Budi, have also studied a number of documents in this case.

"In this investigation, the KPK has also examined several witnesses and related parties, and has studied a number of documents related to the case," he said.

As for the corruption case in the procurement of catalysts, the KPK has named Chrisna Damayanto as a suspect.

Meanwhile, in the bribery case for the procurement of Petral, Bambang Irianto as the former Director of Petral became a suspect.

Budi has not detailed the amount of state losses caused in this case. He also has not explained regarding the alleged corruption suspect who is currently being investigated.
