Rumors Of 10 Exco PSSI Agree Shin Tae-yong To Train The Indonesian National Team Denied

Rumors of South Korean coach, Shin Tae-yong, who will return to coach the Indonesian national team are still hotly discussed. This situation is in line with the vacant coach seat after the death of Patrick Kluiver who was sacked by PSSI in October 2025.

The news about Shin Tae-yong's return to Indonesia had strengthened, especially there was a statement stating that the decision was supported by the approval of 10 members of the PSSI Executive Committee (Exco).

However, this was firmly denied by one of the members of the Exco PSSI, Endri Erawan. He firmly stated that the news that Shin Tae-yong would return to coach the Indonesian national team was not true and misleading.

"Regarding the news circulating that 10 members of the Exco PSSI agreed that Shin Tae-yong would coach the Indonesian national team, it is certain that it is not true," said Endri Erawan in a statement on Monday, November 3, 2025.

Regarding the vacant position of the Indonesian national team coach, Endri Erawan admitted that PSSI was looking for the right person. Later, if PSSI has received the right candidate, it will be decided based on the Exco meeting.

"Until now, the Exco PSSI has not determined who the coach of the Indonesian national team is. Of course, it will take time and will be officially announced by PSSI," said Endri Erawan.

Previously, on October 16, 2025 or four days after the Red-White Squad failed in the 2026 World Cup Qualification, PSSI agreed to separate from Kluiver.

Not only Kluivers, the decision also made a number of staff members behind him leave and return to the Netherlands.
