Sprindik Terbit, NTB Police Call Experts To Strengthen Evidence Of Illegal Sekotong Mining Case

West Nusa Tenggara Regional Police (Polda NTB) issued a Notice of Investigation Commencement (SPDP) and Investigation Order (Sprindik) for illegal gold mining cases in Belongas, Sekotong District, West Lombok Regency.

Director of Special Criminal Investigation of the NTB Police Kombes Pol. Fx. Endriadi said this legal step was a follow-up to the results of the case title.

"So, the case has been filed, the new SPDP and Sprindik were issued," he said in Mataram, Monday, which was confiscated by Antara.

By issuing a new Sprindik, he explained, investigators from the West Lombok Police Criminal Investigation Unit (Satreskrim) are now continuing a series of investigations, one of which is regarding expert examinations.

"Furthermore, from the last title, expert examination," he said.

Regarding the expert information needed in strengthening evidence at the new investigation stage, the NTB Police Dirreskrimsus did not explain further.

The Head of the West Lombok Police Satreskrim, AKP Lalu Eka Arya Mardiwinata, who was confirmed by telephone and short message from the WhatsApp application, has not provided a statement regarding the series of fundamental investigations in the issuance of the new Sprindik.

Assistant for General Crimes at the NTB Prosecutor's Office, Irwan Setiawan, at the end of September 2025, said that his party had returned the SPDP for the illegal gold mining case of Sekotong to the police.

"Administratively, we return the SPDP because there is no follow-up file," said Irwan.

With the return of the SPDP to the police, in this case the West Lombok Police Satreskrim Team as the party conducting the investigation, Irwan emphasized that administratively the prosecutor's office had closed the case.

"It has been closed in our data. So, administratively in our work has been completed," he said.

With the return of the SPDP to the police, the investigation of the case has the opportunity to be stopped through the issuance of a letter of termination of investigation (SP3).

Regarding the possibility of termination, Irwan stated that his party did not have the authority to talk about the issue.

"I can't comment. What is clear is that we return it to them according to regulations, it's just a matter of what they will be like," said Irwan.

If the police issue an SP3 for the follow-up to the return of the SPDP from the prosecutor's office, the police also have no obligation to convey the information to the prosecutor.

"There is no obligation either there. Yes, if there is a new handling with the same case, there must also be a new SPDP," he said.
