Attending MKD Examination, Coordinator Of Orkestra Unhan Fair Values Members Of The DPR Joget Listen To Music
JAKARTA - The House of Representatives' Honorary Court (MKD) invited the Coordinator of the Defense University Orchestra (IDU) Lt. Col. Suwarko, to ask for information regarding the dancing action of DPR members which went viral on social media, during the MPR RI annual session on August 15.
Where the dance was accused of being unethical behavior and considered having fun over the suffering of the people due to the increase in the salaries of council members.
In addition to the orchestra coordinator who filled the annual trial, the MKD also invited the Deputy for Trial of the Secretariat General of the DPR RI Suprihartini, a criminologist Prof. Dr. Adrianus Eliasta, legal expert Dr. Satya Arinanto, sociologist Trubus Rahardiansyah, behavioral analyst Gusti Aju Dewi, and deputy Parliamentary Journalist Coordinator Erwin Siregar.
"Furthermore, article 29 paragraph 5 of the DPR RI regulation number 2 of 2015 concerning MKD certification, the witness must first take the oath according to their respective religions and beliefs," said Chairman of the DPR MKD, Nazaruddin Dek Gam at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Monday, November 3.
MKD then played a video clip showing DPR Speaker Puan Maharani inviting the Defense University orchestra to start the show.
After that, member of the DPR MKD Habiburokhman questioned Lt. Col. Suwarko regarding his position in the orchestra to the invitation from the DPR.
"My position at that time as the coordinator of the orchestra from the Defense University, I was the coach and coordinator of the orchestral SMEs, who played all the Defense University students. As far as I remember (the law) was based on a letter from the DPR on July 7, 2025," said Lt. Col. Suwarko.
Suwarko said that the Secretariat General of the DPR invited him to see the location of the event and convey what songs would be shown in the MPR annual session.
"Yes, directed by the committee (the song of the song, ed) which was performed by national songs, struggle songs and there were also folk ones, coincidentally the regional song was specifically ordered by a song that was happy, so it didn't display sad songs. So we continue to choose the song Sajojo, with Maumere, the song Gemu Fa Mi Re is titled if I'm not mistaken," explained Suwarko.
Suwarko claimed to have known from the start that Orkestra Symphony Pradity Wiratama, a Defense University student cadet, would appear at the annual session of the MPR RI as well as celebrate the 80th independence of the Republic of Indonesia.
Suwarko was also at the location of the annual session when Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto gave a speech and saw the enthusiasm of the council members for listening to the president's speech. Suwarko also saw firsthand the members of the council dancing during the trial break and featuring an orchestra.
"There is (at the location). During the trial there was a break, we took a break for about 5 minutes, we were in accordance with the direction of playing two more medleys. First, Sajojo, then Gemu Fa Mi Re. It was on the sidelines of the event, after (Prabowo's speech)," he said.
"At that time, it was staged after the signal from Mrs. Puan gave us the opportunity to appear, spontaneously we saw it (members dancing) because the song in our opinion was random, happy. Because we also welcomed the preparation of independence day spontaneously, we saw that the session participants (jogging), not only the session participants, almost all of them were dancing there," he continued.
As the performer, Suwarko was happy to receive a good response. Where the audience stood up and danced to the music presented.
"We feel happy, sir, feel appreciated because the song we prepared for about a month turned out that some of them immediately stood up, some joined in singing, for us it was a positive and encouraging response. For us because what we showed was a very good response," he said.
On the same occasion, Member of the MKD DPR Mangihut Sinaga asked Suwarko whether he heard President Prabowo convey a salary increase or not. Suwarko said he did not hear this information at all.
"As far as I remember, I happened to be in the room from before the event started, until it was finished I never heard of any information about the increase in salary or anything else, father," he said.
Suwarko added that not only at the MPR annual trial, participants at other state events also danced when the Defense University orchestra performed a song.
"In appearances at other events, when we present a happy song that happens to be a coincidence for participants, they often sing and even dance," he added.
Therefore, he considered it natural for council members at the annual session to spontaneously dance when listening to happy songs. Moreover, before the day of independence, the Republic of Indonesia must be greeted happily.

"In my opinion, it is very natural even for me, this response is a form or answer for us if the participants are entertained. But in our opinion, if the participants are silent, we are wondering if they enjoy it or they are entertained or not at all," he concluded.
