Holds Job Fair Disabilities, Pramono: The Jakarta Government Wants A Fair Employment Ecosystem
JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government held a Job Fair for Persons with Disabilities in 2025 as an effort to create an inclusive and fair work ecosystem.
This activity was held in commemoration of International Disability Day and is part of the commitment of the DKI Provincial Government to provide equal job opportunities for all citizens, including disabled groups.
DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung emphasized that this activity was born from real needs in the field. According to him, empowerment of persons with disabilities is not just a ceremonial agenda, but it is the government's responsibility to ensure that the group has equal access and opportunities in the world of work.
"Why do we hold this concretely? Because I believe that this is really what is really needed in the field. So in the context of International Disability Day, the Jakarta government really wants to create an inclusive and fair Jakarta labor ecosystem," said Pramono at Taman Ismail Marzuki, Central Jakarta, Monday, November 3.
Pramono said, Jakarta is one of the big cities in the world that provides special treatment for disability groups. The government, he said, continues to expand public facilities that are disability-friendly and ensure the presence of the state in every aspect of their lives.
"Indeed, in Jakarta now, I really want to get special attention from the government and the government to attend. Even if we take transportation in Jakarta, now we have disabilities, including 15 groups that we free. Want to take the MRT, LRT, Transjakarta, Microtrans, and so on," he said.
Furthermore, Pramono alluded to Jakarta's economic achievement which grew 5.18 percent and contributed 16.61 percent to the national GDP. With this growth, he emphasized that the development results could also be felt by disability groups through job opportunities and skill improvement.
"The growth must be evenly distributed, the growth must provide benefits and uses, including for people with disability cards, they really do if they want to use the card, they can do anything," said Pramono.
Pramono said that this job fair for people with disabilities had been held 13 times with real results. Until now, around 150 job seekers with disabilities have succeeded in getting jobs that are in accordance with their abilities.
"That kind of thing has to be done, including what we call upskilling, because not all people with disabilities have the opportunity to do previous job training," he said.
He also asked the DKI Jakarta Manpower Office to expand training programs or upskilling for people with disabilities who have not worked so that they have new competencies and are more prepared to compete in the work market.
"If they haven't found a job, it's better if we do training at our training center for so-called upskilling," added Pramono.
Head of the DKI Jakarta Manpower Office, Syaripudin, explained that the Job Fair Disability 2025 activity raised the theme Independent Opportunities, Unbounded Opportunities Open Roads for All'. This activity is also part of a series of commemorations of the National Day of Persons with Disabilities which falls on December 3.
"This activity is part of the commitment of the DKI Jakarta Government in realizing inclusive and fair employment," said Syaripudin.
