The New 'Air Minister' Of The Indonesian Air Force Lands At Halim, The Key Is Handed Over By President Prabowo To The Commander
JAKARTA - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto symbolically handed over the keys to the Airbus A400M transport plane to the TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto at Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base, Jakarta, Monday, November 3.
Quoted from Antara, based on reports at the location, the aircraft keys were then handed over by the TNI Commander to the Air Force Chief of Staff (KSAU) Marshal Mohamad Tonny Harjono.
Prior to the handover of the key, President Prabowo carried out a procession of opening the curtain of the 31st Squadron symbol attached to the fuselage.
The President also poured fireworks on the front wheels of the aircraft as a symbol of inauguration.
After that, the President reviewed the interior of the aircraft cabin. In this activity, the Head of State was accompanied by Minister of Defense Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.
Airbus A400M, the largest transport aircraft owned by the Indonesian Air Force, landed at Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base on Monday morning with the tradition of water sprinkling in the Indonesian Air Force. This aircraft will be stationed at the Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base 31 Squadron, Jakarta.
The Ministry of Defense has previously signed an order contract for two Airbus A400M units in a multirole tanker and transport configuration for the Indonesian Air Force. The contract was signed at the Dubai Airshow 2021 event and is effective since 2022, including a complete maintenance and training support package.
In addition to the two units, the Ministry of Defense has also signed a letter of intent for the procurement of four additional aircraft in the future.
