Alert! Lightning To Heavy Cloudy Rain Will Pour Many Regions Of Indonesia
JAKARTA - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicts that the weather in a number of parts of Indonesia on Monday, November 3, will be dominated by light rain and rain accompanied by lightning in several areas.
BMKG forecaster Lintang AN in a weather forecast broadcast quoted by Antara Monday morning, said that the Sumatra Island area would generally experience thick cloudy conditions and light rain.
"It is predicted that thick cloudy weather will occur in Banda Aceh, while light rain has the potential to hit Medan, Tanjung Pinang, Pekanbaru and Padang," he said.
Lintang said that the Jambi, Bengkulu, Palembang, and Bandar Lampung areas also have the potential to experience light rain, while Pangkal Pinang needs to be watched out for because of the potential for rain accompanied by lightning.
For Java Island, BMKG predicts light rain will occur in Jakarta, Semarang, and Surabaya.
"People in Serang, Bandung, and Yogyakarta areas also need to be aware of rain accompanied by lightning tomorrow," he said.
Furthermore, for the areas of Bali and Nusa Tenggara, it is clear that Lintang, the weather conditions are predicted to be cloudy in Kupang, while Denpasar and Mataram have the potential to experience rain accompanied by lightning.
Meanwhile, on the island of Kalimantan, light rain is likely to occur in Pontianak, Samarinda, and Palangkaraya. Rain accompanied by lightning also needs to be watched out for in the Tanjung Selor and Banjarmasin areas.
For the Sulawesi region, foggy weather is expected to occur in Palu, while light rain has the potential to flush Mamuju, Makassar, Kendari, Manado, and Gorontalo.
Finally, in eastern Indonesia, Lintang said the weather was foggy, expected to occur in Sorong, cloudy in Manokwari, light rain in Ternate, Ambon, Nabire, Jayapura, and Jayawijaya, as well as moderate rain in Merauke.
