Malaysian Drug Smuggling Through Expedition Route Uncovered
JAKARTA - Police officers of Tanjung Perak Port Resort Surabaya revealed the shipment of narcotics, psychotropics, and drugs (drugs) from Malaysia sent through a package of marine expedition services.
Head of Tanjung Perak Port Police Surabaya Ajun Commissioner Ganis Setyaningrum mentioned drugs sent type of methamphetamine weighing 898 grams.
"The disclosure of this matter is in cooperation with customs officers of Tanjung Perak Port surabaya," he told reporters in Surabaya, reported by Antara, Thursday, May 20.
The police middle officer delivered a package of methamphetamine-type drugs packaged in a cardboard box containing household appliances.
"One of them has a flask containing 898 grams of methamphetamine and its wrappers," he said.
The sender is written from a woman with the initials M addressed in Malaysia addressed to a woman with the initials M also with an address in pamekasan regency, Madura, East Java.
Police then conducted a "control delivery" to the intended address.
"It turns out that after arriving at the destination address the recipient is not a female with the initials M. But two men, each with the initials MT and SR," said AKBP Ganis.
MT and SR were immediately rushed to the Tanjung Perak Port Police Headquarters surabaya, and have been designated as suspects.
To police investigators, MT and SR claimed the sender of the drug package was a woman with the initials M who is currently domiciled in Malaysia.
Both were promised a reward of Rp2 million each if they managed to receive the package.
"According to his confession, the suspects MT and SR have only been arrested once for drug packages of methamphetamine by women with the initials M from Malaysia," ganis said.
Police are still developing investigations, particularly in an attempt to catch the sender with the initials M who was informed to be in Malaysia.
While suspects MT and SR ensnared Article 114, Paragraph 2, subsider article 113, Paragraph 2, subsider Article 112, Paragraph 2 Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 35 Year 2009 on Narcotics. The threat of a maximum sentence of life or 20 years in prison.
