West Sulawesi Prepares Promotional Film to Boost Tourist Visits
JAKARTA – The West Sulawesi (Sulbar) Provincial Tourism Office is currently working on a promotional tourism film as part of its strategy to introduce the region's tourism potential to a wider public.
The Head of Tourism Marketing at the West Sulawesi Tourism Office, Abdi Yansya Hijrah, stated that the film's creation is a strategic step to attract more tourists to visit various leading destinations in West Sulawesi.
"Making this promotional tourism film is an effective strategy to increase the tourism appeal of West Sulawesi," he said in Mamuju on Sunday.
According to Abdi, visual media is the most effective means of realistically showcasing the beauty of tourist destinations. This way, potential tourists can experience West Sulawesi's natural and cultural charm firsthand before visiting.
"This is an effective medium because tourists can visually see the tourist destinations. This is certainly expected to attract interest in visiting West Sulawesi and experiencing them firsthand," he added.
He explained that the film-making process was carried out through systematic stages to ensure high-quality results while remaining efficient in terms of time and cost.
"We hope to achieve the film's production target. The production process is systematic, making it more efficient and effective, yet still delivering high-quality promotional content," he explained.
During the pre-production stage, the team determined the theme, visual style, and shooting locations that would fully portray West Sulawesi's tourism identity. Script development began with the story idea and continued with the final scenario approved by the director.
Meanwhile, the Head of the West Sulawesi Provincial Tourism Office, Bau Akram Dai, emphasized the importance of seriousness in developing this film project to ensure it truly impacts tourist visits.
"This film must be produced seriously so that it truly impacts tourist interest. We hope this promotional film can attract tourists to enjoy the natural beauty, culture, and culinary delights of West Sulawesi," said Bau Akram.
He added that the increase in tourist numbers will have a positive impact on regional economic growth and community welfare.
"I am optimistic that this promotional film can be an effective strategy to increase tourist visits to this region," he said.
This effort is also in line with the Panca Daya program of the Governor and Deputy Governor of West Sulawesi, which encourages inclusive and sustainable economic development through the tourism sector.
