One Reported Party Has Not Been Examined, Polda Metro Ensures Jokowi's Ijazah Case Continues
JAKARTA - The investigation into the alleged fake diploma of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) is still being processed at the State Security Sub-Directorate (Kamneg) of the Ditreskrimum Polda Metro Jaya. Until now, investigators have examined dozens of witnesses and a number of experts to clarify the case.
The Head of Public Relations of the Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Budi Hermanto, said that a total of 117 witnesses and 4 reporters had been questioned, while out of 11 were reported, one of them had not been examined, namely Egi Sujana (ES).
"One reported with the initials ES has not been examined as a witness. The summons has been sent twice and received by his family and lawyers, but the person concerned was not present because he was seriously ill and was being treated abroad," he said in a written statement, Sunday, November 2, 2025.
According to Budi, the family and ES attorneys have submitted a certificate of illness and medical records to investigators as supporting evidence.
In addition to examining witnesses and reported parties, investigators have also asked for information from 25 experts, 19 of whom have been examined, while the other six are still scheduled in the near future.
"The process is still ongoing and carried out carefully according to the SOP. Investigators are gathering facts and evidence to shed light on this incident and determine who should be suspected of committing a criminal act," he explained.
Budi emphasized that so far there have been no obstacles in the investigation process. Furthermore, the police continue to coordinate with the DKI Jakarta High Prosecutor's Office to ensure that each stage runs according to procedures. "Investigators coordinated with the Prosecutor from the start, including through SPDP delivery and routine communication. In the near future, a case title (expose) will be carried out with the Public Prosecutor of the DKI Prosecutor's Office," he added.
Budi added that the title of the case was part of the SOP for cooperation between investigators and the prosecutor's office before determining further steps, including the possibility of determining the suspect.
"What is clear is that the Polda Metro Jaya's commitment is to thoroughly investigate this case in a professional, proportional manner, and in accordance with the applicable SOP," he said.
Until now, Budi has not confirmed the exact schedule for the implementation of the case title, but said the activity was already included in the investigator's agenda.
"We make sure it will be scheduled by investigators," he concluded.*
