Yamaha Showcases Motoroid: A Concept Motorcycle Featuring Futuristic Design and Advanced Technology

JAKARTA - Yamaha showcased a total of 16 vehicles, with various interesting concepts and six world launch models, at the 2025 Japan Mobility Show (JMS).

The details include the Proto HEV, the H2 Buddy Porter concept, and the eye-catching Motoroid:A. Yes, this motorcycle, whose initial version was introduced in 2017, is quite unique and futuristic.

Yamaha revealed that this motorcycle has a unique rotating movement in its frame, thanks to an integrated automatic balance and motion control system.

"With its unique rotating movement in its frame, the Motoroid:A Lambda uses an AI-assisted automatic balance and motion control system with the ability to right itself if it falls," wrote Yamaha, as quoted from its official website, Sunday, November 2.

At first glance, the design is quite radical, unlike even conventional or electric motorcycles. However, Yamaha claims that the Motoroid was designed with the natural riding posture of a human in mind. Interesting, isn't it?

"Its self-learning algorithm learns through reinforcement, a technique typically used in AI systems that play video games or train robots," Yamaha wrote.

The AI system embedded in the motorcycle was developed in Japan and is called the Active Mass Center Control System (AMCES). AMCES helps balance the motorcycle without human assistance and captures the owner's gestures when operating the vehicle.

While still far from production, its continued refinement over the years makes it very appealing.
