Targeted For Completion At The End Of 2027, Hutama Karya Leads Road Development At KIPP IKN

JAKARTA - PT Hutama Karya (Persero) (Hutama Karya) officially signed a road construction contract in the Central Government Core Area (KIPP), the capital city of Nusantara (IKN), Friday, October 31, 2025.

The infrastructure project is the foundation of IKN's future mobility, which prioritizes quality, aesthetics, and green infrastructure principles.

The 6,418-kilometer road will be the main lifeblood that ensures smooth interaction between government agencies in the Central Government Core Area (KIPP).

The project specifically aims to strengthen connectivity in the Judicial Area, which is an integral part of the judiciary-executive-legislative cluster in IKN.

Hutama Karya's scope of work is not limited to violence. The project includes the construction of main roads, bridges, complementary buildings, drainage systems, public street lighting (PJU), to landscape arrangement.

The most interesting thing is the integration of multi-utility tunnels (MUT), an underground tunnel that will accommodate all utility networks (electricity, communication, water), eliminate views of chaotic cables, and ensure future maintenance efficiency.

The road construction is targeted to be completed by the end of 2027, affirming the commitment of BUMN Karya in supporting the acceleration of IKN development.

The head of the IKN Authority, Basuki Hadimuljono, emphasized that the standard applied in the project is the overall benchmark for IKN development.

"The construction of the Judicial Complex Road project is not only to build physical, but also to maintain quality, aesthetics, and environmental sustainability principles," Basuki said in a written statement, Saturday, November 1, 2025.

The commitment to environmental principles was confirmed by the EVP of the Corporate Secretary of Hutama Karya, Mardiansyah, that the application of the green infrastructure principle started from lower-tailed material selection.

"The design of a sustainable drainage system is aimed at increasing the resilience of urban environments and creating a comfortable and energy efficient city," he said.

In addition to functional benefits as a connector of state institutions, this infrastructure development also has a positive impact that is directly felt by the community around East Kalimantan.

The construction project will optimize the role and absorption of local workers at each stage, ensuring that IKN development directly improves the welfare of local residents.

"This project is expected to have a positive socio-economic impact on local residents, including optimizing the role of local workers at the construction stage," he said.
