Prabowo-President Of South Korea Discusses Continuation Of KF-21 Fighter Aircraft Project

JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto and South Korean President Lee Jae Myung discussed the continuation of the defense cooperation, namely the KF-21 Boramae fighter project, in a bilateral meeting between the two countries on the sidelines of the APEC 2025 Summit, Gyeongju, South Korea.

In a meeting held on the sidelines of the APEC 2025 Summit in Gyeongju, South Korea, Saturday, the two leaders alluded to the joint development of the fighter project as a defense partnership between the two countries.

"I think we will continue to discuss the follow-up to the KF-21 project. So, I think negotiators will continue, and, of course, negotiations will always depend on economic factors, prices and financing schemes," said President Prabowo as quoted by ANTARA, Saturday, November 1.

President Prabowo explained that ministers and technical teams will discuss with the South Korean government to discuss in detail the fighter project.

On the same occasion, President Lee explained that the two countries had worked together in depth regarding the development of fighter aircraft.

"I hope this will produce bigger results for both of us, and we can continue this good example of cooperation," said President Lee.

President Lee explained that the two countries have established cooperation in various fields, namely economy, trade and investment. Lee wants the cooperation to be brought to a higher level.

Responding to this, President Prabowo expressed his appreciation for the close partnerships that have been established between the two countries, both in the economic and defense sectors.

The Head of State said that over the past year, communication between the Government of Indonesia and industry players of the Republic of Korea has been running intensively.

"I met Korean industry and business leaders when they visited Indonesia. We discussed at length, and we are very open to the continued Korean participation in our economy. We look forward to continuing this collaboration," said President Prabowo.
