Ruben Amorim Had Feel That Maybe It Was Not His Fate At Manchester United
Ruben Amorim admits he doubts whether he will reach one year as Manchester United Manager or not. He is sometimes afraid if it is not his destiny at Old Trafford to see his poor first season.
The visit to Nottingham Forest on Saturday, November 1, 2025, coincided with the one-year anniversary of the appointment of the Portuguese coach as Erik ten Hag's successor and occurred in the best period of his term.
However, a series of three consecutive victories in the Premier League have brought back hope for Manchester United, who slumped in 15th place last season and lost in the Europa League final when Amorism was under intense scrutiny.
When asked if there were times where he doubted whether he would serve a full year as manager, the 40-year-old did not deny.
"It's hard to say. Sometimes. Sometimes in a few moments. I know you will write, but there are some difficult moments to deal with."
"Defense in so many games, it was very difficult for me because it's Manchester United."

"Our position last year, which focused on the Europa League and didn't win. It was tough."
"So, there are some moments where I have a lot of trouble and I think maybe this is not fate," he said.
However, when asked again how the situation is now, Amorim emphasized that coaching Manchester United is the best decision.
"Today is the opposite, so you can write this one! Today I feel it and I know it is the best decision in my life."
"I want to be here, but for that I have to win against Nottingham," he said.
Amoram said he would remain happy if his team played well and ran a lot at City Ground, where his team wanted to end their streak of three consecutive defeats in the Premier League to Forest.
The Manchester United manager said it was impossible for him to be complacent if they won or retaliated against criticism given how quickly things could change at the club that had gone through the storm he had warned December 2024.
"It's hard to say. We need to think positively, but we also need to be prepared that football is like this."
"We are a team that I can tell you, now we can lose here or later, but we will defend (the momentum)."
"I trust my players more, I think they believe in me more. Victory will come by itself."
"You can feel it because everyone now says how connected they are and they trust the manager."
"It's about winning the game. Not much has changed because against Arsenal I saw the same team, so I don't know."
"I think we are in a better position, but it is also very good to always have that feeling and be prepared that something can change."
"If we have that feeling, we will pay close attention to the details, we will defend our direction."
"I can say that we are a better team right now and we feel it. We know that. It can help us deal with bad moments better," Amorim said when asked if the storm had passed.
