Purbaya Reveals Ministry Of Finance In Official Data, State Budget Management Must Have A Real Impact

Minister of Finance Purbaya Yudhi Sadive highlighted a number of local governments protesting data from the Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu) regarding regional transfer funds because they are considered inaccurate.

Purbaya emphasized the importance of optimal management of the State Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBN), both at the central and regional levels, so that each allocated budget is really used effectively and has a real impact on the economy and the welfare of the community.

"When I came (to) ministries to ask about the absorption of their APBN, not to interfere with the policies of each ministry, but to ensure that the money we allocate is used as much as possible and has the maximum impact possible for the economy and community welfare," he said at the 97th Youth Day Ceremony and the 79th Oeang Day, quoted from the Ministry of Finance's YouTube, Friday, October 31.

Purbaya emphasized that the Ministry of Finance always adheres to the official data that has been verified repeatedly and is the main foundation in budget management.

"Data is the most important thing. When I or the Ministry of Finance talk about funds in the regions, a lot of regions protest and a little blame the Ministry of Finance for inaccurate data. But we always stick to official data and have been checked many times," he explained.

He added that the credibility of the Ministry of Finance must be maintained and asked all levels of the Ministry of Finance to double check so that the funds budgeted are spent on time and on target.

"I ask all my friends to do the same thing in the future, double check, double check, make sure the money is spent on time, on target and make sure every rupiah we give or allocate for the budget is used as much as possible for the prosperity of the community," he said.

Furthermore, Purbaya said that President Prabowo Subianto was targeting economic growth of 8 percent as the foundation towards an Advanced Indonesia.

However, he considered that the target was not easy, but still realistic if all parties worked hard and innovated.

"So, we are assigned to encourage or help realize the 8 percent goal. This is not a small number, but I am sure that if we continue to work together, ensuring that the budget is well absorbed and ensuring a better innovation climate 8 percent is not a number in the sky. That's something we can achieve. The economic growth we are looking for is not just a high number in the report, but the growth felt by the people," he said.

He also emphasized that state financial management must be carried out optimally with spending that is directed effectively to create inclusive and sustainable economic growth.

"For this reason, all levels of the Ministry of Finance must work together with all stakeholders so that every rupiah of the State Budget really provides benefits to the people," he said.

Purbaya added that there are still several regions that have not been able to manage the budget well and in the future, the Ministry of Finance will be more proactive in providing assistance and training so that regional financial management becomes more efficient.

"If we look at the last few weeks, there are areas that have not been able to manage the budget well, for that in the future the Ministry of Finance must be more proactive, maybe we will teach them how to manage the budget and spend the budget well. So later Pak Askolani and friends will have more additional tasks to look like," he added.
