Ford Recalls Over 200,000 Vehicles, These Are the Models Affected
JAKARTA - Ford is recalling hundreds of thousands of vehicles due to various issues, none of which are simple OTA software fixes.
According to Carscoops, Friday, October 31, Ford is recalling a total of 227,006 vehicles, with 163,000 of the affected models being Ford Broncos manufactured between September 2020 and November 2022.
Next are the Ford Explorer, the latest Lincoln Corsair, and the Aviator, each manufactured for the 2025-2026 model year. Nearly 48,000 Explorers, 5,300 Corsairs, and more than 3,900 Aviators may have bubbles in the windshield laminate.
The problem is traced to insufficient air removal during the lamination process, which causes a snowflake effect that could be dangerous for occupants.
The SUV's windshield will be inspected and replaced if necessary, although Ford maintains that in 85 percent of cases, snowflakes appear within three months, and 50 percent are detected during PDI, so the incidence rate will be low.
Finally, 6,900 2026 Ford Econoline vans are being recalled due to concerns about a malfunctioning defrost system that could lead to greater windshield visibility issues.
This latest recall follows Ford's recall of 175,000 Ford and Lincoln trucks and SUVs due to a risk of detaching wind deflectors.
