Give Compensation To Victims Of Falling Trees With A Number Of Conditions, DKI Provincial Government: So It's Not Fictitious

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government provides assistance as compensation for residents who are victims or owners of facilities that have been hit by fallen trees in Jakarta with a number of requirements.

Head of the DKI Jakarta City Parks and Forest Service (Distamhut) Fajar Sauri explained that the conditions for claiming compensation by fallen tree victims were indeed needed because the DKI Provincial Government cooperated with the insurance office for its implementation.

"So, we are collaborating with Bumiputera. Well, the requirements from there are like that. So, to provide compensation, let it not be fictitious," said Fajar at DKI Jakarta City Hall, Friday, October 31.

Residents affected by fallen trees can receive compensation of Rp. 25 million for injured victims, Rp. 25 million for damaged vehicles, Rp. 25 million for damaged buildings, and Rp. 50 million for dead victims.

To apply for compensation claims, the applicant needs to prepare and send documents including:

1. Certificate from the police

2. Photo of the incident

3. Photocopy of KTP, STNK, or BPKB

4. A certificate from the DKI Jakarta City Parks and Forests Sub-department (according to the location of the incident)

5. Incident fee receipts

6. The vehicle statement letter is not insured

7. Power of attorney (for applicants represented)

8. Visum letters from hospitals, as well as death certificates from RT/RW and kelurahan (for victims who died)

Applicants send original documents to the DKI Jakarta City Parks and Forest Service office. Application documents can be downloaded first via the bit.ly/claims tree tumbangdki link.

"The requirement is that there is an ID card of the deceased (the victim died), yes, as a basis. Then, indeed if something happened from what, what happened, then there was a certificate from the police proving that it was true," explained Fajar.

Fajar explained that this compensation program is a form of responsibility and protection from the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government for residents who suffered losses due to fallen trees in the Jakarta area.

"The submission of claims is greatly facilitated. In fact, we ask Bumiputera, today is the incident, tomorrow pay," he added.
