Encouraging Regional Digitization Acceleration, BI Launches Three P2DD Catalysts

JAKARTA - Bank Indonesia (BI) officially launched three catalyst programs within the framework of the Acceleration and Expansion of Regional Digitalization (P2DD). This step aims to accelerate economic growth and improve the quality of public services at the regional level.

BI Governor Perry Warjiyo explained that the three catalyst programs focused on increasing capacity, strengthening digital literacy, and synergy across stakeholders.

"Why does it need to increase capacity, literacy, and synergy? Because local governments play a strategic role in encouraging economic growth and public services, local governments play a strategic role in encouraging economic growth and public services throughout Indonesia. ," he said at the Opening Ceremony Day 2 FEKDI X IFSE 2025, Friday, October 31.

According to Perry, regional digitization through the P2DD catalyst program will not only increase the efficiency of public services and encourage local economic growth, but also strengthen national unity.

"With this P2DD catalyst, not only public services, not only regional economic growth, but also the unity of the nation as one with the digitization of this Catalytic area. Capacity, literacy, and also synergy," he said.

He added that increasing digital capacity and literacy is an important foundation so that digital transformation in the regions runs effectively, inclusively, and sustainably.

"Without the readiness of qualified human resources (HR) to complete the great potential for digitization will be difficult to realize evenly throughout the region," he said.

For this reason, he conveyed that BI together with ministries and local governments will strengthen the capacity of human resources through a network of 46 BI representative offices throughout Indonesia, which will play an active role in encouraging the electronification of regional financial transactions.

According to him, this program is designed as a forum for learning, collaboration, and sharing the best practices in implementing regional financial digitization in a directional and adaptive manner.

Perry emphasized that the implementation of the P2DD catalyst will be carried out in a sustainable manner with the spirit of collaboration between agencies and between regions.

He added that through this forum, local governments are expected to expand their insights, build cooperation networks, and formulate effective strategies to strengthen digital-based financial governance.

"Launching the P2DD Catalyst in the hope that this will strengthen, expand digitalization in the regions, local government human resources, digitalize financial transactions, digital payment channels for taxes and levies, and accountability for public financial management," he said.
