Prabowo Is Warmly Welcomed By The President Of South Korea When He Attends The Opening Of The APEC 2025 Summit

JAKARTA - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto was warmly welcomed by South Korean President (South Korea) Lee Jae-myung while attending the Opening of the 2025 Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation High Level Conference (KTT APEC), in Gyeongju, South Korea, Friday, October 31.

President Prabowo is seen wearing a gray suit with a blue striped tie and black cap, based on a live broadcast from the KBS YouTube account which was watched in Jakarta, Friday, October 31.

After leaving the elevator, President Prabowo was greeted by President Lee Jae-myung who had been waiting for him and served Prabowo's hand tightly when he arrived at the welcoming location for the leaders of APEC 2025 member countries.

The two leaders then captured the moment of the meeting in a joint photo as a symbol of friendship and close partnership between Indonesia and the Republic of Korea.

Previously, leaders of world countries were also present, including Singaporean Prime Minister (PM) Lawrence Wong, New Zealand PM Christopher Luxon, to Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.

In addition, Chinese President Xi Jinping was also present at the APEC 2025 Summit.

On the first day of the APEC Summit, President Prabowo and other APEC member leaders will take part in the first session of APEC Economic Leaders Meeting (AELM).

This session raised the theme "Towards a More Connected, Resilient Region and Beyond" which highlights the importance of strengthening connectivity, economic resilience, and cross-regional collaboration.

In this session, President Prabowo is scheduled to convey Indonesia's views and ideas regarding strategic steps to build a mutually connected Asia-Pacific region, innovating, and prosperous.

President Prabowo's presence at the APEC 2025 Summit has a strategic meaning considering that this forum represents about 60 percent of the world's gross domestic product (GDP) and more than a third of the global population.

This conference is an important forum for Indonesia to strengthen its role in regional economic growth. Also accompanying the President in the first session of AELM, namely the Indonesian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sugiono.
