20-year-old Man In Situbondo Suspected Of Sexual Violence Against 8-Year-Old Children
SITUBONDO - The Situbondo Resort Police Criminal Investigation Unit (Polres), East Java, revealed a case of alleged immoral acts committed by a man with the initials FG, aged 20 years against a minor.
Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Situbondo Police, AKP Agung Hartawan, said that the alleged immoral case committed by the FG perpetrator against an eight-year-old child was revealed after this incident was reported to the local police.
"Based on the results of the investigation, the perpetrator's immoral acts were carried out in several different locations between February and August 2025," Agung said, quoted by Antara in Situbondo, Friday, October 31.
According to Agung, local police investigators have examined a number of witnesses and confiscated evidence in the form of clothes belonging to the victim and the suspect.
From the results of the examination, he continued, the perpetrator was known to have taken advantage of the situation when the victim was playing around his house.
The perpetrator then persuaded the victim by giving money and committing immoral acts accompanied by threats so that the victim would not tell anyone about the incident.
"This case is a form of sexual violence against children that has been carried out repeatedly, and now the suspect has been investigated, while the case file has been transferred to the Situbondo District Attorney for further investigation," said Agung Hartawan.
The police charged the suspect with Article 76D in conjunction with Article 81 paragraph (2) of Law Number 35 of 2014 concerning Child Protection as amended by Law Number 17 of 2016, and Article 6 letter c in conjunction with Article 15 paragraph (1) letter g of Law Number 12 of 2022 concerning the Crime of Sexual Violence, with a maximum penalty of 15 years in prison.
