South Jakarta Floods Have Not Receded: Residents Stay In The Middle Of Water 1.5 Meters High

JAKARTA - The DKI Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) recorded that until Friday, October 31 morning, there were still 33 neighborhood units (RT) in South Jakarta (Jaksel) that were flooded due to high rainfall.

"The latest data is at 06.00 WIB, there are still 33 RTs that are flooded," said Head of the DKI Jakarta BPBD Data and Information Center Mohamad Yohan in Jakarta, Friday morning.

According to him, the floods that occurred in South Jakarta and East Jakarta had submerged 54 RTs on Thursday (30/10) night with a maximum water level of 1.6 meters.

Currently, he said, the flood has begun to recede. Based on the latest data, there are 33 RTs in South Jakarta that are still flooded.

"The water level is currently in the range of 35-150 centimeters (cm)," said yohan.

He added that the flood was caused by heavy rains that hit the Jakarta area and its surroundings, causing an increase in the water level at the Sunter Hulu Post with Alert/Alert 3 status on Thursday (30/10) at 16.00 WIB.

Then, the Pesanggrahan Post had Alert/Alert Status 3 at 17.00 WIB and the Karet Water Gate also had a Alert/Alert Status 3 at 19.00 WIB, causing a number of inundations in the DKI Jakarta area.

Water level: 110 cm

West Kuningan Village: 11 Neighborhoods

Water level: 35-110 cm

Pela Mampang Village: 10 Neighborhoods

Water level: 30-50 cm

Duren Tiga Village: 5 Neighborhoods

Water level: 40-150 cm

West Pejaten Village: 1 Neighborhood

Water level: 60 cm

Jati Padang Village: 5 Neighborhoods

Water level: 40 cm
