President Prabowo Arrives In South Korea, Here's His Agenda

JAKARTA - Presiden Prabowo Subianto tiba di Busan, Korea Selatan, Kamis malam, untuk menghadiri Konferensi Tinggi (KTT) Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) 2025 di Gyeongju pada 31 Oktober1 November 2025.

The Garuda Indonesia-1 aircraft carrying President Prabowo and a limited entourage, one of which is Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, landed at Gimhae Air Base, Busan, Thursday at 22.20 local time.

President Prabowo's arrival was then welcomed by the Minister of the South Korean Defense Acquisition Program Major General Purn. Seok Jong-gun, Indonesian Foreign Minister Sugiono, Deputy Mayor Gyeongju Song Ho-jun, Indonesian Ambassador to South Korea Cecep Herawan, and Attache to the Indonesian Embassy in Seoul Colonel Pnb. Muhammad Arief.

On the apron of Gimhae Air Base, President Prabowo's arrival was also greeted by troops in the ranks of South Korean military honor. The President, accompanied by Song Ho-jun, also received a military welcome from South Korea at Gimhae Air Base.

This year's APEC Summit, led by South Korea, has the theme Building a Sustainable Tomorrow: Connect, Innovate, Prosper. The theme reflects the joint commitment of APEC member countries to create a better future for future generations.

To realize this common vision, the APEC 2025 Summit emphasizes three main priorities, namely transportation, innovation, and welfare.

Therefore, discussions in high-level meetings will focus on trade and investment relations, inter-citizen relations (people-to-people connection), digital and sustainable economic transitions, strengthening MSMEs and vulnerable groups, as well as changing demographics.

Then, at a meeting of the leaders of countries (APEC Economic Leaders), President Prabowo is scheduled to talk about strengthening economic cooperation in the region.

The Presidential Secretariat in its official broadcast explained that President Prabowo's presence at the APEC 2025 Summit had strategic goals considering APEC covers around 60 percent of the world's GDP and 36 percent of the global population.

"Indonesia's active participation in APEC is an opportunity to contribute in building a sustainable and balanced future area. Indonesia also has a role in bridging inter-member interests, as well as ensuring that APEC's cooperation results have a direct impact on the community, business actors, and the world of work," said the official broadcast of the Presidential Secretariat.
