Police Strictly Guard The Initial Session Of The Australian Caucasian Shooting Case In Bali
DENPASAR - Badung Resort Police, Bali, has closely guarded the trial of the shooting of foreign nationals from Australia involving three Australian foreigners at the Denpasar District Court.
Badung Police Chief AKBPM. Arif Batubara said as many as 146 joint personnel were deployed to guard the inaugural trial with Australian foreigners, namelyegory Francesco Jenson (37), Coskun Mevlut (23), and Tupou Pasa Midolmore (37).
The personnel were deployed to escort from the Class II A Kerobokan Prison, Badung, and to maintain the safety of the trial at the Denpasar District Court.
"We are carrying out special security due to letters and official requests from the prosecutor's office and the court," said Arif, Thursday, October 30.
At the Denpasar District Court, personnel are placed at various strategic points, starting from the main gate of the Denpasar District Court to the main courtroom.
Some officers also appear to be fully armed, including using long-barreled weapons to anticipate potential security disturbances.
Arif Batubara also ensured that the defendant's escort process was carried out according to strict procedures. The defendants were also escorted using armored tactical vehicles guarded by Brimob personnel.
"The escort is carried out directly from the Kerobokan Prison to the Denpasar District Court so that the situation remains conducive and avoids unwanted things," he said.
The Badung Police Chief emphasized that there were no indications of a security threat against the proceedings or against the victim's family.
"Indications of threats are most likely not there. We are only carrying out the mandate of the law in accordance with the relevant letters and requests," he said as quoted by ANTARA.
Previously, the brutal shooting case allegedly carried out by Australian gangsters rocked the public in the Banjar Sedahan area, Munggu Village, Mengwi District, Badung Regency, Bali, Saturday (14/6) in the morning.
In the incident, one person died on behalf of Zivan Radmanovic and one victim was injured, namely Sanar Ghanim.
The shooting was witnessed by GJ, the wife of victim ZR, and Daniela, Sanar's wife.
ZR was shot in the bathroom toilet, while Sanar was shot in the room.
The main agenda for today's trial is the reading of the indictment against the three perpetrators who allegedly carried out the shooting with firearms in a planned manner.
The police also paid special attention to the families of the victims who were present at the trial.
According to the Police Chief, a number of police officers have been alerted to assist and maintain the safety of the victim's family, which is said to be still experiencing deep trauma due to the tragic incident.
"The victim's family did ask for escort because he was still traumatized. We make sure there are officers on guard and provide a sense of security during the trial," he said.
