The Flooded Rail Can Now Be Passed, PT KAI Stops The Rotation Line In Semarang

PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) has stopped the pattern of train operations (KA) turning through the southern route after the flood that inundated the railroad between Semarang Tawang Station and Alastua Station, Semarang City, Central Java, began to recede and the route could be crossed.

"The engineering of the rotating train operation has been stopped, but there will still be delays in travel even though the route that is inundated can be passed," said KAI Public Relations Manager for Operation Area 4 Semarang, Franoto Wibowo in Semarang, Antara, Thursday, October 30.

Franoto explained that the route between Semarang Tawang Station and Alastua Station could be crossed again since last Wednesday night.

Even so, the speed of passing trains is still limited to a maximum of 20 kilometers per hour.

According to him, normalization was carried out after PT KAI raised the rail line which was flooded.

"We hope that the water level will continue to recede so that train travel can return to normal," he said.

Franoto added, PT KAI continues to strive to normalize the route affected by the flood while still prioritizing the safety and comfort of passengers.

"Our officers continue to monitor conditions in the field. Hopefully the flooding can recede soon," he said.

Sebelumnya, banjir melanda sejumlah titik di Kota Semarang selama beberapa hari terakhir. Genangan juga menutupi jalur Pantura Jalan Kaligawe, yang menghubungkan Kota Semarang dan Kabupaten Kendal, hingga menyebabkan kemacetan arus lalu lintas.
