Many Brebet Motorcycles Due To Pertalite, Bahlil Inspects Gas Stations In Malang
JAKARTA - Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Bahlil Lahadalia carried out a surprise inspection (sidak) to gas stations 26 Pertamina Asrikaton, Pakis, Malang, East Java. This is a follow-up to complaints from the public that caused a motorbike to strike after filling Pertalite type fuel in East Java.
"I and the Center for Oil and Gas Testing (Lemigas) are responsible for checking the quality of fuel. We have just finished checking at the gas station here at gas station 26 Malang. Based on the available sample results, the oil quality is declared to be standard and good for use," said Bahlil, quoted Thursday, October 30.
Apart from Malang, Bahlil said that the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources together with Lemigas dispatched a team to check at a number of other gas stations in East Java, including Gresik, Surabaya, and Lamongan. He emphasized that the inspection was carried out in response to public reports.
"For several gas stations suspected or suspected that there was a mixture of water reported in Surabaya and then in Gresik and Lamongan, the team has also gone down and tomorrow we will close together the results of the inspection of all gas stations at 11 o'clock," said Bahlil.
To ensure transparency and accountability of the examination, Bahlil emphasized that the government would take firm action against any party proven to have committed violations in the distribution and management of fuel. He emphasized that firm action would be taken indiscriminately if violations were found in the field.
"If it is true that something happened and it was done by Pertamina, then we, the government, will not hesitate to impose strict sanctions on Pertamina," said Bahlil.
This sudden inspection, continued Bahlil, in addition to checking the quality of fuel, also ensures the implementation of service operational standards in the field. The Ministry wants to ensure that the fuel consumed by the community meets the applicable qualifications. If violations are found, firm action will be taken, including those of related parties.
Separately, the Director General of Oil and Gas (Migas) of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Laode Sulaeman reported the results of the examination of the quality of fuel at gas stations in Gresik and Surabaya.
"We have tested the quality of fuel through water paste tests and visual tests. The test results at two gas stations showed no water content found in the fuel. From the test results, all samples showed good conditions and met standards. This inspection procedure is also routinely carried out at each gas station before operation to ensure the quality of fuel that will be consumed by the community," explained Laode.

Pertamina through the President Director of Pertamina Patra Niaga Mars Ega Legowo Putra stated that the results of laboratory tests also showed that Pertalite products from Tuban and Surabaya BBM Terminals met applicable quality standards. However, Pertamina Patra Niaga continues to investigate at the gas station level to ensure quality along distribution channels.
"We are committed to following up on every report responsibly. For people who want to submit reports outside the post area, Pertamina provides various official reporting channels, namely at the last gas station where they buy fuel or contact the Pertamina Contact Center 135 via telephone, email or DM social media," he concluded.
