Mexican President Summons US Ambassador For Attack On Drug Ship In Caribbean
JAKARTA - Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum criticized US attacks on ships in the Pacific Ocean and the Caribbean Sea, as well as summoned the US Ambassador to ask for clarification.
"This is important. Today, I explain this attitude to the Minister of the Navy and the Minister of Foreign Affairs so that this problem can be handled together," said Sheinbaum as quoted by ANTARA from Sputnik, Wednesday, October 29.
Mexico wants all international agreements to be respected and it does not agree with the way the US attacks were carried out.
"I asked the ambassador to be summoned and this situation was discussed separately," he said.
On Tuesday, US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth announced on October 27, US forces carried out three attacks on four ships suspected of carrying drugs in the East Pacific. The attack killed 14 people.
