PSM Makassar Officially Collaborates With Tomas Trucha As New Coach

JAKARTA - PSM Makassar officially appointed Tomas Trucha as the team's new tactician. The Czech Republic coach will accompany Juku Eja to navigate the 2025/2026 Super League continuation.

News about the agreement to appoint Tomas Trucha as the new coach was also announced by PSM Makassar through uploads on their official social media.

"Welcome to the club, Mr. Tomas Trucha. The Czech Republic coach with the UEFA Pro license is ready to carry out his tough duties as the captain of the phinisi ship."

"The task is to lead the voyage through the waves, strong winds, and bring back the spirit of the champion in the pinisi ark," wrote PSM Makassar accompanying a photo of the coach quoted Wednesday, October 29, 2025.

The presence of Tomas Trucha replaced Bernardo Tavares who left Ramang Troops earlier this month.

Bernardo Tavares left PSM because of salary problems. This situation was experienced by the Portuguese coach for three and a half years in Makassar.

Trucha, who is 54 years old, will have a difficult task with PSM. Management hopes that Trucha can return the championship motivation to Yuran Fernandes and his friends.

Currently PSM is ranked 14th in the 2025/2026 Super League standings. Of the eight matches this season, PSM has only won once, drew five times, and lost twice.

Tomas Trucha has a number of experience training Southeast Asian clubs, especially in Malaysia. From 2020 to 2023, Trucha coached Penang and Kelantan United in the Malaysian Super League. Trucha last coached at AFC Leopards, Kenyan club.
