Responding To The Damaged Motorcycle Phenomenon After Being Filled With Pertalite In East Java, Central Bahlil Checks

MINAHASA - Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Bahlil Lahadalia opened his voice regarding the phenomenon of "Pertalite outbreak" that occurred in East Java.

Bahlil admitted that he had asked the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources' team of Oil and Gas Institutions (Lemigas) to go to the lapanhan and check directly

"I've (sent a team), I'm checking the truth at Lemigas and I'm asking for the report," Bahlil told the media crew when met after conducting the BPB program in Wolaang Village, East Langowan District, Kab. Minahasa, North Sulawesi, Wednesday, October 29.

Bahlil said the information would only be received this afternoon after receiving a report from the team in the field.

"I have sent the team. Maybe in the afternoon I will return, I will get the report," he continued.

Quoted from the Instagram account @societyofsurabaya, several residents in the Tuban, Lamongan and Bojonegoro areas complained about the motorbike that suddenly broke down after refueling Pertalite belonging to Pertamina.

In the video, several tens of motorbikes are seen parked in a row after being filled with fuel.

"Brebet Kabeh, destroyed," said the figure who made a video of the condition of the motorbike.

Meanwhile, Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional East Java, Bali and Nusa Tenggara (Jatimbalinus) apologized for the inconvenience to public reports regarding problems with vehicle engines after filling Pertalite type fuel oil (BBM) at several gas stations in the East Java distribution area.

Area Manager Communication, Relations & CSR Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Jatimbalinus, Sunday Rahedi said, Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Jatimbalinus received complaints from consumers regarding Pertalite products which indicated that they caused disruption to motorized vehicle engines. Among them are areas of Lamongan, Gresik, Bojonegoro, Tuban, Surabaya, Sidoarjo and Malang.

Our main priority is to ensure the safety of supply and quality of fuel products received by the community in accordance with applicable regulations. Each distribution stage is carried out based on the standards that have been set to ensure the quality of the product is maintained," said Sunday.

As a follow-up step, Pertamina Patra Niaga has conducted further laboratory examinations of Pertalite products originating from Tuban Fuel Terminal and Surabaya Fuel Terminal as the majority of the affected fuel supply points and the result is that the fuel is declared on Wednesday according to specifications.

"Currently, further investigations are underway to check the Quality and Quantity (QQ) of fuel at the gas station level as a final distribution point to the public. This series of investigations are carried out to ensure the quality and suitability of product specifications," said Sunday.
