Newcastle Vs Tottenham: Duel Two Inconsistent Teams

JAKARTA - Newcastle United will face Tottenham Hotspur in the Fourth Round of the Carabao Cup on Thursday, October 30, 2025, early morning WIB, at St. James' Park, in a match that may be the most prestigious match of the round.

Both teams entered this match with a winning capital in the Premier League last weekend. Bruno Guimaraes' winning goal in the 90th minute brought Newcastle all three points as they beat Fulham 2-1 at St. James' Park.

Meanwhile, Tottenham performed very impressively in a 3-0 win over Everton at Dickinson Hill Stadium, a match where centre-back Micky van de Ven scored twice for Thomas Frank's side.

Spurs have appeared inconsistent in their last few matches, having lost to Aston Villa in the Premier League on October 19, 2025, before drawing against AS Monaco in the Champions League - the result they got thanks to the good performance of goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario.

Newcastle's win over Fulham followed a scintillating 3-0 win in the Champions League against Benfica, but their Premier League performance is also not consistent. They only won three league games throughout the season.

In the previous round in the FA Cup, Newcastle beat Bradford City 4-1, while Spurs beat Doncaster Rovers 3-0.

It remains to be seen how much both managers will change their line-up for this match, considering both teams have a busy schedule, both in the Premier League and Champions League.

Tottenham's next three games are tough. They host Chelsea and travel to Manchester United between the Champions League home games against FC Copenhagen.

Newcastle will have two Premier League away games to London, against West Ham United and Brentford, then they will host Athletic Club in the Champions League next week.

Looking at the same notes that have not found consistency, Spurs can be seeded slightly by Newcastle.

They have the most away points in the Premier League this season (13 points from four wins and one draw), with 82 percent of their points this season won in away matches (14/17).
