Coordinating Minister Yusril: Enforcement Of Measles Law On Moral And Historical Values
KEPRI - Coordinating Minister for Law, Human Rights, Immigration, and Correction Yusril Ihza Mahendra said law enforcement has its roots in moral and historical values.
various values inherited by predecessors, including Sultan Mahmud Riayat Syah, are in line with the principles of fair law enforcement.
"The law is not only about written rules, but also about morals, honesty, and courage to uphold the truth, such as the founders of the Malay kingdom who made justice and honor the basis of leadership," said Yusril as quoted by Antara, Wednesday, October 29.
This was conveyed by Yusril during a working visit to Lingga Island, Riau Islands, last Monday. He hopes that the spirit of struggle and Islamic value that grows in the Malay land can be an inspiration for the legal apparatus and state administrators.
He said that all parties must be able to learn from history that justice is the foundation of civilization. "Without morals and human values, the law will lose its spirit," he asserted.
The visit was a continuation of his visit to Penangkat Island in order to trace the traces of history and noble values that became the basis for the formation of the laws and civilizations of the nation.
The Lingga Island was once an important center for the Riau-Lingga Kingdom and is often dubbed the "National Mother of Tanah Melayu" because of its strong Malay cultural heritage.
On the island, Yusril visited the Sultan's Mosque and the Sultan Mahmud Riayat Syah Tomb, a fighter and leader of the Riau-Lingga Sultanate who was known to uphold justice and courage against colonialism.
He also made a pilgrimage to the Tomb of Bukit Cengkeh and visited the Bukit Linggam Cahaya Museum to witness traditional gasing games as a symbol of persistence and local wisdom.
