The Ministry Of Transportation Promises To Completely Investigate The Cause Of The Drop In The Kedunggedeh Train
The Ministry of Transportation through the Directorate General of Railways (DJKA) has confirmed that an investigation into the train incident involving the Purwojaya train near Kedunggadeh Station is being carried out by the National Transportation Safety Committee (KNKT).
For your information, the Purwojaya train fell near Kedunggadeh Station, Bekasi Regency, on Saturday, October 25, 2025.
Director-General of Railways, Allan Tandiono emphasized that passenger safety is a top non-negotiable priority and will always be the main focus of DJKA.
"We apologize and are sorry for the incident. Every incident that occurs, no matter how small it is, it is an alarm for us to re-evaluate as a whole regarding safety and service aspects," Allan said in an official statement, Wednesday, October 29.
Allan said DJKA was ready to support and implement recommendations from the investigation carried out by the NTSC. He said the results of this investigation would be the basis for improving the national railway system from the operational side, quality of infrastructure and facilities, or human resources.
"We hope that the incident that has occurred can be a valuable lesson for our ranks and relevant stakeholders to continue to improve the safety and quality of our rail transportation services," Allan said.

Regarding the potential findings from the investigation being carried out by the NTSC, Allan said that DJKA and related stakeholders are fully committed to taking the necessary corrective steps.
Allan said this was done to ensure that the implementation of railways in Indonesia could be carried out reliably, safely, safely, and comfortably and sustainably for the community.
"We will gradually announce what improvement measures we have taken as our effort to encourage accountability for the incident," Allan concluded.
