Pandeglang Residents Asked To Be Aware Of Floods And Landslides

PANDEGLANG - The Regional Disaster Management and Fire Extinguishment Agency (BPBD-PK) of Pandeglang Regency, Banten asked the public to be aware of floods and landslides, because in the next few days the potential for extreme weather is predicted to hit the area.

"We hope that the public can comply with the warning to reduce the risk of disaster," said Head of the Emergency and Logistics Section of BPBD-PK Pandeglang Regency, Lilis Sulistiyati in Pandeglang, Antara, Wednesday, October 29.

Based on a report from the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) that on October 28-31, 2025, there is the potential for extreme weather, which is marked by moderate to very heavy rain accompanied by strong winds and lightning.

This extreme weather is likely to occur in the afternoon and into the evening, so that people can increase their vigilance so as not to cause casualties.

So far, the Pandeglang Regency has entered areas prone to natural disasters, due to the natural topography of mountains, hills, watersheds and coastal areas.

Natural disasters in the Pandeglang area, such as floods, landslides, tornadoes, fires and tsunami waves had occurred in 2018.

Therefore, BPBD - PK Pandeglang asked people living in areas prone to natural disasters to increase their vigilance in facing the potential for extreme weather.

In addition, his party also conveyed an appeal to the public to always be alert to extreme weather both through the media and WhatsApp also provides education and socialization every activity.

"In addition, if there is a natural disaster, it will be reported to the BPBD -PK Operations Control Center (Pusdalops) for post-disaster handling," he said.

BPBD-PK Pandeglang mapped 12 flood-prone areas, including Angsana, Cikeusik, Munjul, Pagelaran, Patia, Panimbang, Sukaresmi, Sobang, Saketi, Official Sindang, Picung, and Labuan sub-districts.

Meanwhile, tsunami-prone areas are located on the coast of the sea, including Carita, Labuan, Panimbang, and Sumur sub-districts.
