Man In Tasikmalaya Dies In Toren

The Tasikmalaya Resort Police, West Java, said the results of an investigation into the discovery of a man who died in a water reservoir (toren) in Singaparna, because there was a history of a disease that was suspected of having relapsed. There were no acts of violence that led to criminal acts.

"It is suspected that during the repair, the victim experienced severe dizziness due to his history of high blood disease, so he could not get out of the water reservoir, and was found dead," said Singaparna Police Chief AKP Roni Hartono as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, October 28.

He said the victim, Abdul Karim (57), who was the caretaker of a rented house in Gunung Putri Village, Cintaraja Village, Singaparna District, was found dead by residents in a water reservoir on Tuesday morning.

According to the information gathered and the results of the crime scene, the victim was first found with face-to-face conditions and a head below in a water reservoir containing 2 centimeters of standing water.

"The victim was found dead in a water reservoir located on the roof of the rented house," said Roni.

Before the incident, one of the rented residents complained about the condition of the water that did not flow due to problems with the shelter.

Furthermore, said the police chief, the victim took the initiative to check and repair the water reservoir on the roof of the building, since then the victim's whereabouts were no longer known, until it was discovered that a ladder was installed leading to a water reservoir location.

"Officers found the victim's body was already in a stiff condition, the corpse showed that the victim had died before being found," he said.

The results of the investigation led to the death toll from the illness he suffered, namely high blood pressure and often complaining of dizziness.

The victim was then evacuated to the KHZ Mustofa Tasikmalaya Regional General Hospital for further examination before being handed over to the victim's family.
