BGN Boss Calls 690 SPPG Already Certified Hygiene Sanitation

JAKARTA - Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) Dadan Hindayana said as many as 690 units of 13,000 kitchens for the Free Nutrition Eating (MBG) program or the Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG) already have a sanitation hygiene certificate (SLHS).

"It's been 690 (the SPPG unit that has SLHS)," he said at the Coordinating Ministry for Food Office, Jakarta, Tuesday, October 28.

Dadan targets the entire kitchen of the MBG program organizers who are currently operating to have SLHS in one month.

"The target is to finish in one month," he said.

Furthermore, Dadan said, the beneficiaries of the MBG program per day have reached 39.2 million people through 13,347 SPPG or the kitchen of the MBG program organizers.

There are already 13,347 SPPGs with 39.2 million beneficiaries. Now the MBG budget absorption has reached Rp35 trillion," he said.

Previously, the Coordinating Ministry for Food requires all Nutrition Fulfillment Service Units (SPPG) that provide Free Nutrition Food (MBG) to have a Sanitation Higiene Certificate (SHLS).

The Coordinating Minister for Food Zulkifli Hasan said that initially SHLS was one of the requirements that had to be met by the SPPG. However, he continued, because of the rampant cases of poisoning, it was a special concern.

"Indeed, the Sanitation Higiene Laik Certificate is a requirement, but after the end of the incident now it gets special attention. Every SPPG must have a SLHS," Zulhas said at a press conference at the Ministry of Health, Jakarta, Sunday, September 28.

The man who is familiarly called Zulhas emphasized that the safety of children who consume MBG is the government's top priority. Therefore, continued Zulhas, all SPPGs must have SLHS.

"It will be checked. If this is not the case, it will happen again, it will happen again. The safety of our children is a top priority, SLHS is mandatory for all SPPGs," he said.

Not only that, Zulhas also asked Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin to order Puskesmas in all regions to actively monitor SPPG regularly.

"All steps are taken openly so that people believe the food served is safe, nutritious for all Indonesian people," he said.
