Attorney General's Office Immediately Executes Harvey Moeis Who Was Sentenced To 20 Years In Prison

JAKARTA - The Attorney General's Office (AGO) will soon execute the convict in a corruption case in the management of tin commodity trading in the mining permit area of PT Timah Tbk Harvey Moeis with 20 years in prison.

"Immediately, as soon as possible. This, right, is clear," said Head of the Legal Information Center (Kapuspenkum) at the Attorney General's Office, Anang Supriatna, as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, October 28.

He revealed that one of the reasons Harvey Moeis had not been executed was because the Prosecutor's Office had not yet received a copy of the verdict.

"We are waiting for a complete official copy," he said.

However, he confirmed that Harvey Moeis was still being held at the detention center. Later, the executor prosecutor from the South Jakarta District Attorney will execute the sentence against Harvey.

"He is still being held. There is no problem. Execution is only administrative. The position in question is also still being held," he said.

On Monday (27/10), celebrity and wife of the convict in the alleged corruption case of lead Harvey Moeis, Sandra Dewi, withdrew a lawsuit against confiscation of her assets related to the corruption case in the management of tin commodity trading in the mining permit (IUP) area of PT Timah in 2015-2022, which dragged her husband.

The Panel of Judges also determined, accepted, and granted the request for revocation, so that the trial of the objection submitted by Sandra Dewi, Kartika Dewi, and Raymond Gunawan automatically ended.

The Panel of Judges also stated that Harvey Moeis' verdict could be executed according to the decision of the Supreme Court.

The Supreme Court in July 2025 decided to reject Harvey Moeis' appeal, which is an extension of PT Refined Bangka Tin (RBT) in this corruption case, so that he is still sentenced to 20 years in prison in a tin corruption case.

He is also still subject to fines and additional penalties in the form of replacement money such as the decision of the DKI Jakarta High Court, which is Rp. 1 billion, provided that if it is not paid, it will be replaced (subsider) with eight months in prison and compensation of Rp. 420 billion, subsidiary to 10 years in prison.
