Ahead Of The Closing Of Twitter.com Domain, X Urges Users To Relist Security Locks

JAKARTA Platform X, previously known as Twitter, will permanently close the Twitter.com domain. Ahead of this closure, the official @Safety account gave the latest security warning.

In this announcement published on October 24, X said that users who use physical security keys or password keys for Two Factor Authentication (2FA) must re-registered their keys before November 10.

Users who rely on the method are required to re-registered their keys before November 10. If they fail, the related account will be locked until the update process is complete and the abandoned account is at risk for sale.

The currently registered security key is still connected to the old twitter.com domain. Therefore, users need to re-register the key to connect with the new x.com domain.

According to X, re-registration of this key must be done to protect users from phishing attacks that try to cheat by directing them to other websites. These keys will not recognize new domains like x.com.

Basically, this domain shift is carried out to leave Twitter completely. This will be the last step in removing the remnants of the old domain.
