MBG Program Becomes A Spotlight At The United Nations Headquarters In Geneva
JAKARTA - The Free Nutrition Food Program (MBG) is in the spotlight at the United Nations Headquarters (UNBB) in Geneva, recently. This happened in the series of The Sixth Session of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD 16).
Through the 'From Trade to Table: Leveraging Integrated Trade-Development to Ensure Sustainable and Resilient Food System and Nutrition Programs', the Indonesian delegation conveyed the importance of trading as a driver of global and national stability which must also ensure access to nutritious, diverse, safe, and affordable foods for all levels of society.
Deputy Minister of Bappenas, Febrian Ruddyard, said that the MBG program reflects a new approach to Indonesia's development which places humans and food security as the core of the national development strategy.
The event, which was organized by the Government of Indonesia through the Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas and Permanent Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia in Geneva, presented Ms. Luz Maria de la Mora representing UNCTAD, Ms. Braulio Morera from the World Economic Forum (WEF), Ms. Shannon Howard from the World Food Program (WFP), Ms. Afshan Khan from the Scaling Up Nutrition (SUN) Movement, and Mr. Sarwono from the National Nutrition Agency (BGN).
