Raye Announces Lost Cars And Lyrics Have Been Found

JAKARTA - After going through difficult times, Raye was finally able to breathe a sigh of relief. His stolen car, along with books containing lyrics for his upcoming album, has now returned to his hands.

Last year, the singer behind the hit "Escapism." iti previously told fans that his car had disappeared. What hit him the most, there were many books containing the lyrics of his second album.

However, at this time, the singer whose real name is Rachel Keen revealed that the vehicles and valuable books had been found and returned.

"This is an up and down journey, but what I didn't tell everyone was that the police called me about two or three months ago, and they said, 'We found your car,'" Raye said in a recent interview at The EE Official Big Top 40, quoted by PEOPLE, Tuesday, October 28.

Furthermore, he explained the most extraordinary thing about the discovery. "I didn't just get it back, but none of the items were taken from the car. All my song lyric books were there, untouched."

The singer, who had won a Grammy nomination, then concluded that this experience was a life lesson.

"Everything ended well," added Raye. "Never lose hope."

Initially, the multitalented artist shared the theft news in a social media upload in October 2024, coinciding with her 27th birthday.

At that time he wrote, "it's my job and my sister was stolen along with all my lyric books in the trunk so there's no second album in the near future."

Previously, Raye also spoke in more detail about the incident in an interview with PEOPLE earlier this year.

"My car was stolen," he said at the time. "There's a giant ledger that says 'The Second album of RAYE' on its cover with lots of thoughts, a lot of personal things are really cute."

His concern at that time was huge. "I hope whoever stole the car just took the stuff and threw it in the trash, because I don't want people to read that. It's just things that are really private, deep. But I've come to the point where I've forgotten it now and just moved on."

Meanwhile, this good news came shortly after Raye released the main single from his second album candidate, "Where Is My Husband!". The song is reported to have managed to penetrate the No. 70 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Even though the lyric books have returned, it is not yet clear whether the material from the book that has been saved will be included in his new album, whose release date has not yet been announced.
