The End Of The Escape Of Dugi Telenggen, A Member Of The Puncak KKB Who Killed The Police In Lanny Jaya

PAPUA - The Cartenz Peace Operations Task Force together with the Lanny Jaya Police arrested Dugi Telenggen alias Dugwi Kogoya, a member of the Puncak Armed Criminal Group (KKB) who was involved in the shooting of Lanny Jaya Police, Brigpol Joan H. Sibarani, in Tiom District, Lanny Jaya Regency, on September 10, 2024.

Dugi Telenggen was arrested in Ulume Village, Lanny Jaya Regency, on Monday. Apart from being involved in the shooting of the late Brigpol Joan, he also admitted to shooting a civilian named Adi Yohanes Abilio Fallo in the same incident," said Head of Peace Operations Cartenz Brigadier General Faizal Ramadhani in Timika, Antara, Tuesday, October 28.

Faizal explained that Dugi was arrested when the joint apparatus responded to the dispute between the people in Kampung Ninam.

When they came to the masses, officers found someone holding a cell phone that allegedly belonged to Dugi.

After the examination, the authorities confirmed their identity and immediately made arrests.

The evidence confiscated included one unit of Nokia's cellphone, a notebook, two photocopies of ID cards, one identity card, and two small black noken bags.

"This arrest is the result of good cooperation and synergy between the Cartenz Damai Ops Task Force and the Lanny Jaya Police. We are committed to taking action against any perpetrators of armed crimes that threaten the safety of the community and members of the National Police in Papua," said Faizal.

Deputy Head of Peace Operations Cartenz, Kombes Pol Adarma Sinaga, emphasized that the authorities will continue to pursue other KKB networks.

"We will continue to pursue other KKB networks to create a safe and peaceful Papua," he said.

With the arrest of Deki Telenggen, the Cartenz Peace Task Force hopes that the security situation in the Lanny Jaya and surrounding areas will be more conducive and can break the chain of armed violence in Papua.
