WhatsApp Will Add The 'Manage Storage' Feature In Each Chat

JAKARTA WhatsApp is developing a new feature that can make it easier for users to manage storage space. This feature will come with the 'Manage Storage' menu in every chat room.

This feature was recently discovered by WABetaInfo in beta on TestFlight. This 'Storage Management' menu can be an answer for users who often get full phone storage space alerts.

With this new feature, users can see how much space is spent in each conversation, both private and group. This feature provides clearer transparency regarding memory consumption.

In the Storage Manage section, users can browse the gallery's display in detail. This display shows various stored media, such as images, videos, to documents, along with the amount of memory of each medium.

This new feature will work similar to the storage management tools already available in the main settings of the app. However, the main difference between these two features is the focus of the media details.

Currently, WhatsApp already has the 'Media, Link, and Documents' option in each chat that displays a joint file. Unfortunately, the option does not show how much storage space each file uses.

Until now there is no definite schedule for when this feature will be rolled out publicly. However, the presence in beta shows that this feature will be available to all users after the test ends.
