Juventus Fires Igor Tudor After Seven Months On Duty

JAKARTA - Juventus, who was down, sacked coach Igor Tudor on Monday, October 27, 2025, local time, after three consecutive defeats and eight games without a win.

The 47-year-old took over in March 2025 and put the finishing team in fourth place in Serie A. This summer, he was awarded a new contract that took effect until June 2027.

However, the disappointing start of the season saw Juventus slump in eighth place in the 2025/2026 Serie A standings and winless in eight games in all competitions. They haven't even scored in the last four games.

Tudor's last match took place on Sunday, October 26, 2025, local time, when his team lost 0-1 to Lazio.

His departure was announced Monday with Juventus confirming Massimo Brambilla, coach Juventus Next Gen in Serie C, will take over while the first team for a midweek match against Udinese.

"Juventus announced that today they have dismissed Igor Tudor from his duties as head coach of the first team, along with staff consisting of Ivan Javorcic, Tomislav Rogic, and Riccardo Ragnacci."

"The club thanks Igor Tudor and all of his staff for their professionalism and dedication over the past few months and wishes them all the best for their future careers," Juventus said in a statement.

Tudor was appointed to replace Thiago Motta who was sacked and was initially awarded a contract until the end of the season - including the 2025 Club World Cup in the United States.

In June 2025, it was confirmed that the 47-year-old coach would survive after bringing Juventus to fourth in the league with five wins in nine games in Serie A.

He also brought La Vecchia _a to the 2024/2025 Champions League playoffs. They failed to qualify for the round of 16 after losing to PSV Eindhoven.

Tudor played for Juventus for nearly a decade from 1998-2007 and previously coached Udinese, Hellas Verona, and Lazio in Italy.

The Croatian coach was also Andrea Pirlo's assistant coach at Juventus in the 2020/2021 season. Pirlo and Tudor were fired at the end of the season.
