Pramono Ensures Transjakarta Tariffs Will Increase

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung has confirmed that he will increase the tariff for Transjakarta services. However, Pramono has not revealed the exact time for the increase in the general transport rate managed by the DKI BUMD.

"Regarding the Transjakarta tariff, at the right time we will announce this," Pramono said when met at M Bloc Space, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, Monday, October 27.

Pramono explained that the DKI Provincial Government has provided free public transportation services, including Transjakarta to 15 groups of people, ranging from civil servants of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, retired civil servants, contract workers of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, students receiving KJP Plus, residents of the Rusunawa, the PKK Mobilization Team, and employees with salaries equivalent to the UMP.

Then, residents with the Thousand Islands ID cards, recipients of the Jabodetabek domicile race, members of the TNI/Polri, veterans of the Republic of Indonesia, people with disabilities, the elderly over 60 years old, administrators of mosques/musalas, PAUD educators, as well as jumantik groups, administrators of youth organizations, dasawisma, and posyandu cadres.

Not to mention, currently the DKI Provincial Government has served a number of Transjabodetabek routes so that the burden of transportation subsidies borne by the APBD is increasing.

"Of course, the Jakarta Government cannot support all residents in Jakarta and Jabodetabek. We have calculated for Transjakarta, especially for Transjabodetabek so that prices between Jakarta and buffer areas are not different," said Pramono.

Meanwhile, the economic value of Transjakarta services per customer is IDR 15,000. So far, the DKI Provincial Government has budgeted a ticket subsidy of IDR 11,500 and each passenger only pays a Transjakarta tariff of IDR 3,500 per road. Based on current conditions, Pramono assesses that it is time for the value of the Transjakarta ticket subsidy to be reduced every time and the tariff to increase.

"The tariff for Transjakarta compared to areas where it is cheaper, including in Bogor, Bekasi, Tangerang, we are cheaper. In fact, from Bogor in the morning to Jakarta, below 05.00, at 06.00 in the morning it was only Rp. 2,000 and it took Transjakarta with excellent facilities," explained Pramono.

"However, we are now repairing the facilities. In fact, this year for Jakarta electric buses, which previously only operated 200, will now operate up to 500 electric buses so that this will significantly reduce pollution," he continued.
