Budget Absorption Of The Ministry Of Public Works Is Almost 60 Percent
BEKASI - Minister of Public Works (PU) Dody Hanggodo revealed that the Ministry of Public Works' budget absorption has reached almost 60 percent to date.
"Now maybe (realization of budget absorption) is almost 60 (percent) times, yes. Because, right, every day we accelerate the completion of the tender, we accelerate contracts, all kinds of things," said Dody when met by reporters after attending the Peak of the World Habitat Day and World City Day (HHD-HKD) 2025 at the Upper Medium People's School (SRMA) 13, Pangudi Luhur Bekasi Center, West Java, Monday, October 27.
According to Dody, infrastructure projects that have been entered into contracts will certainly encourage the realization of budget absorption.
"If it's a contract, it must have absorbed the down payment, right, which then added absorption (budget). So, I remember approaching 60 (percent)," he said.
Dody is also optimistic that the Ministry of Public Works' budget absorption can exceed 94 percent by the end of next year.
"So, we are still optimistic that we can reach 94 percent by the end of December 2025," he added.
Previously, the Minister of Finance (Menkeu) Purbaya Yudhi Sadive made a visit to the office of the Ministry of Public Works (PU) on Friday, October 17.
Purbaya said the visit was carried out to ensure that the budget that had been given to the Ministry of Public Works could be absorbed optimally.
"I'm here for the budget safari, I think to make sure the existing budget is spent well," said Purbaya.
He did not deny that the realization of the ministry's budget absorption led by Dody Hanggodo was still low, which was below 50 percent.
For this reason, the visit made by him and his staff to ensure that the Ministry of Public Works can absorb its budget to the fullest.
"I asked the Minister (Dody Hanggodo) what the steps looked like and it seemed that the steps were quite good, so that by the end of the year (the budget) could be absorbed maybe 94 percent or more," he said.
