Huawei And BAIC Launch The Latest Stelato S9 Next Month, Will Be More Sophisticated

JAKARTA The new car brand from collaboration between Huawei Technologies and Beijing Automotive Group (BAIC), namely Stelato, will launch an update version of the luxury S9 electric sedan in November. This car is claimed to come with the latest features.

Reporting from Cnevpost, Monday, October 27, Stelato revealed that this latest model will be the first to use a new logo independently. Where, replacing the words Stelato which was previously installed directly on the front grip.

This step marks a new phase for Stelato in building a stronger brand identity in the premium electric car market. The Stelato S9 model was first introduced in August 2024 and began shipping to consumers a month later.

This sedan has a sizeable dimension, with a length of 5,160 mm, a width of 1,987 mm, a height of 1,486 mm, and a wheelbase of 3,050 mm, making it one of the most spacious electric sedans in its class. S9 is available in two choices of driving systems, namely Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) and Extended Range Electric Vehicle (EREV).

This combination provides flexibility for consumers who want full electric car performance or additional efficiency through small gasoline generators. The price of Stelato S9 in the Chinese market is priced from 309,800 to 449,800 yuan equivalent to Rp696 million to Rp1.01 billion.

Although Stelato has not disclosed the details of the updated version of the specifications, some leaks suggest that this model will remain present in the BEV and EREV variants. The increase is likely to occur in battery efficiency, autonomous driving assistance systems, as well as interior and exterior design refinement.

Stelato is one of five automotive brands under the Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance (HIMA) umbrella initiated by Huawei with its automotive partners, along with Aito, Luxeed, Maextro, and Shangjie.

The launch of the latest version of Stelato S9 is a strategic step to strengthen the position of this brand in the premium electric sedan segment. In addition to bringing Huawei's advanced technology, changes to the logo and design refinement are also expected to be able to emphasize Stelato's independence as a new entity in the global electric vehicle industry.
