Winning TKO Over Joseph Parker, Fabio Wardley Becomes Mandatory Challenger Oleksandr Usyk

JAKARTA - heavyweight boxer Fabio Wadley confirmed himself to be a mandatory challenger for the World Boxing Organization (WBO) championship belt held by Oleksandr Usyk after defeating Joseph Parker at the O2 Arena, London, England.

"I don't know how to say it (fight Oleksandr Usyk) with words," Wardley said on DAZN's YouTube channel monitored in Jakarta, Sunday.

After dominating the match in mid-range rounds, Wardley stopped the New Zealand boxer in the 11th round with TKO's win.

The win gave him the WBO interim heavyweight title and strengthened his unbeaten record to 20 wins and one draw.

In a press conference after his victory, Wardley immediately challenged the true heavyweight champion, Usyk. Against the heavyweight ruler from Ukraine it has been Wardley's goal for years.

"There's nothing more I want in this sport," he said.

He confirmed that when the game happened, Usyk would work hard starting from the start of the bell.

"I didn't plan to enter the ring with Usyk and said 'thank you for inviting me' and then giving up," he said.

Promoter Frank Warren confirmed that the regulatory agency will order Usyk to fight Wardley who is ready to fight Usyk anywhere, anytime, to win the true world title.

Warren wants the match to take place at Wembley Stadium, England, or Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, because the selling value of the match is very high.

"You know what you got from Usyk and from Fabio," he said.

He added that the game would be very interesting and Wardley should be one of the most exciting fighters in the world.
