Government Asked To Reopen CPNS Formation For Teachers
JAKARTA Education observer, Darmaningtyas, asked the government to reopen the formation of Civil Servants (PNS) for teachers to improve the quality of education in Indonesia.
So far, the formation of PPPK teachers is only in demand of honorary purposes. It's time for civil servant formations to be opened for teachers. Don't let everything be directed to PPPK," he said, Sunday, October 26.
According to him, the government has sufficient to moratorium the acceptance of civil servant teachers on the grounds to resolve honorary fees through the line of government employees with a work agreement (PPPK).
The reason is, the quality of education will remain lame if there is no improvement to the state civil apparatus (ASN), including the acceptance of civil servant teachers.
Darmaningtyas emphasized that as long as teachers are only filled through the PPPK formation, only honorary staff will register, while teacher education graduates will think twice.
"Which fresh graduate wants to be a PPPK teacher, because they know the system is a contract. It's different for civil servants, there must be many smart human resources who are interested in applying," he added.

He suggested that the Minister of Basic and Secondary Education (Mendikdasmen) Abdul Mu'ti coordinate with the Minister of Administrative Reform and Bureaucratic Reform (MenPAN-RB) Rini Widyantini to discuss the formation of civil servant teachers next year.
This is because the government from 2014 to 2025 did not open the recruitment of CPNS teachers, where the most vacancies were only PPPK teachers specifically for honorary teachers and educators.
In fact, continued Darmaningtyas, many graduates of the Education Personnel Education Institute (LPTK) have the potential to improve the quality of education.
"On the other hand, young teachers who have this high competence still think twice when they are only PPPK teachers. In fact, the world of education needs them. If you want to get professional teachers, open civil servant teacher admissions and this is urgent because many civil servant teachers retire," said Darmaningtyas.
